Body implants add volume and definition to the chest (pectoral), calves or biceps using medical-grade silicone implants. At The Sculptique Aesthetics in Mumbai, our surgeons place implants in a pocket under the muscle so the contour looks natural and proportionate. Whether you cannot achieve the definition you want through exercise alone, or you have asymmetry or underdevelopment such as Poland syndrome, a personalised consultation helps us recommend the right implant size, shape and placement.
We tailor each procedure to your frame and goals. Incisions are placed in inconspicuous areas and implants are selected for a result that enhances your silhouette without looking artificial.
What it is
Body implant surgery involves placing solid silicone implants in a pocket under the muscle to enhance the contour of the chest (pectoral implants), calves or biceps. Pectoral implants are the most common: they are placed under the pectoralis major muscle through an incision in the armpit crease or under the breast fold, so the chest appears fuller and more defined. Calf implants are placed under the fascia of the gastrocnemius muscle through an incision behind the knee; bicep implants are placed under the biceps muscle through an incision in the armpit or inner arm.
Implants are selected for size and shape to match your frame and goals. They are made of medical-grade silicone and are designed to feel firm but natural. The procedure can address congenital asymmetry (e.g. Poland syndrome, where one side of the chest is underdeveloped), or aesthetic goals for those who have reached a plateau with exercise. We do not over-size: the aim is a proportionate, natural-looking contour that fits your body.
At The Sculptique Aesthetics we assess your anatomy, discuss your goals and explain the incision placement and recovery. We will give you a clear picture of what to expect so you can make an informed decision.
Who it's for
Ideal candidates for body implants are healthy adults with a stable weight who want more definition than exercise can provide, or who have asymmetry or underdevelopment (e.g. Poland syndrome, or one calf or pectoral smaller than the other). Good candidates understand that implants add volume and shape but do not replace a healthy lifestyle; they are in good general health and have realistic expectations about size and scarring.
Skin quality and muscle bulk influence the result. We assess your frame and discuss the range of implant sizes so the outcome is proportionate. During your consultation in Mumbai we will examine the treatment area, discuss your goals and explain which implant type and size we recommend and why. We also discuss recovery and the need to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activity for several weeks so the implant can heal in place.
Benefits
- Enhanced chest, calf or bicep definition and volume
- Improved symmetry; can correct congenital underdevelopment
- Permanent, stable result with medical-grade silicone
- Customised implant selection for your frame and goals
- Incisions placed in inconspicuous areas
- Natural-looking contour when sized and placed appropriately

Recovery & results
You will need to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous use of the treated area for four to six weeks so the implant can settle and the pocket can heal. We will give you specific instructions on movement, compression (if used) and when you can gradually return to exercise. Swelling subsides over several weeks; final contour is visible once swelling has fully resolved.
Implants are permanent. They do not need to be replaced unless you choose to change size or have a complication. We recommend follow-up visits to check position and healing. If you notice any change in shape, pain or firmness, contact us so we can assess. We will give you a clear aftercare plan and long-term care advice.

Frequently asked questions
Medical-grade silicone implants used for body contouring have a long safety record when placed by experienced surgeons. We use approved implants and sterile technique. Your surgeon will explain risks, placement and aftercare. Regular follow-up is recommended to monitor position and healing.
Implants give predictable, permanent volume and definition. Fat transfer uses your own fat but volume can vary with weight change and some fat may be reabsorbed. For consistent, lasting chest definition, implants are usually the preferred option; we can discuss both at your consultation.
Pectoral implants: typically in the armpit crease or under the breast/pec fold. Calf implants: behind the knee. Bicep implants: in the armpit or inner arm. We choose placement to hide scars and minimise visibility.
Light activity and walking are encouraged early. Heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for the treated area are usually avoided for 4–6 weeks to protect healing and implant position. We will give you a clear timeline at your post-operative visits.
Yes. Pectoral implants are commonly used to restore volume and symmetry when one side of the chest is underdeveloped due to Poland syndrome. We tailor size and position to match the other side as closely as possible. See our Poland syndrome page or ask at your consultation.
