These procedures are often combined with breast lift or reduction so the whole breast and nipple-areola complex are harmonised in one operation.

Treatment overview
What it is
Areola reduction reduces the diameter of the areola by removing a ring of outer skin and closing it in a circle (or doughnut pattern). The scar sits at the new areola border and typically fades well. Nipple reduction can shorten an elongated nipple or reduce the diameter for a more proportionate look. Correction of inverted nipples involves releasing the tethering tissue (ducts or fibres) that pull the nipple inward and sometimes adding a small support to maintain projection. Nipple reconstruction may be offered after mastectomy as part of breast reconstruction; we can discuss this if relevant.
Techniques are tailored to your anatomy and goals. Incisions are kept minimal and placed to hide scars. We discuss the trade-offs—for example, inverted nipple correction can affect sensation or breastfeeding in some cases—so you can make an informed decision. At The Sculptique Aesthetics we assess your areolae and nipples and explain the recommended procedure and recovery.

Your suitability
Who it’s for
Ideal candidates are those with large or asymmetric areolae, elongated or asymmetric nipples, or inverted nipples that cause discomfort (e.g. chafing) or affect confidence. These procedures are often combined with breast lift or reduction when the whole breast is being reshaped. Good candidates are in good general health and have realistic expectations about scarring and possible changes in sensation.
If you plan future breastfeeding, we will discuss how inverted nipple correction or certain techniques might affect it. During your consultation in Mumbai we will examine your areolae and nipples, discuss your goals and explain the technique, risks and recovery.

Strenuous exercise and direct pressure on the area may be limited for a short period. Sensation may change temporarily or, in some cases, long term; we will discuss this at your consultation.
Scars fade over several months. Results are long-lasting. We will give you a clear aftercare plan and follow-up.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Helpful answers about Areola / Nipple Correction, treatment and recovery.
Yes. Inverted nipples can often be corrected with a procedure that releases the tethering tissue and may add support to maintain projection. The technique depends on the degree of inversion and whether you need to preserve ducts for breastfeeding. Your surgeon will explain the options and any effect on sensation or function.
Sensation can be affected; many patients retain normal sensation. Risk depends on the procedure—e.g. areola reduction has a lower risk than some inverted nipple corrections. Your surgeon will discuss this during your consultation.
Yes. Areola reduction and nipple repositioning are often part of a breast lift or reduction. Combining them in one operation gives a harmonious result with one recovery.
Areola and nipple correction results are long-lasting. Pregnancy and breastfeeding can alter the breasts and nipples again; we can discuss timing if you plan more children.
Choose a surgeon trained in plastic surgery with experience in breast and nipple surgery. At The Sculptique Aesthetics our surgeons are board-certified and perform these procedures routinely, often as part of breast lift or reduction. We encourage you to come for a consultation.
