A forehead or brow lift raises a drooping brow and smooths horizontal forehead lines and frown lines, creating a more open, youthful eye area. At The Sculptique Aesthetics in Mumbai, we offer both endoscopic and traditional techniques so we can tailor the approach to your anatomy and goals. The result is a refreshed, natural look—not a surprised or over-lifted appearance.
Whether you have a heavy brow, deep forehead lines or a tired or angry expression that no longer reflects how you feel, a personalised consultation helps us recommend the right technique. A brow lift is often combined with upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) for a harmonious rejuvenation of the upper face.
What it is
A brow lift repositions the forehead and brow by releasing and adjusting the underlying muscles and tissues that cause a low brow and deep lines. The endoscopic brow lift uses several small incisions hidden in the hairline and a thin camera (endoscope) to visualise and release the muscles and tissues; the brow is then lifted and secured in a higher position. This approach typically involves less dissection, a shorter scar and a quicker recovery than a traditional (coronal) brow lift, which uses a longer incision across the top of the head.
The result is a natural lift of the brow and softening of frown lines (between the brows) and horizontal forehead lines. We avoid over-lifting so you look refreshed, not startled. The procedure can be combined with upper blepharoplasty in the same session: when the brow is low, removing only upper lid skin can still leave a heavy look; lifting the brow first (or at the same time) allows a more balanced result.
At The Sculptique Aesthetics we assess your brow position, forehead height and muscle activity to recommend the best technique. We will explain the incision placement, recovery and what to expect so you can make an informed decision.
Who it's for
Ideal candidates for a brow lift are adults with a heavy or low brow, deep horizontal forehead lines, frown lines between the brows or a tired or angry appearance that does not reflect how they feel. Good candidates are in good general health, do not smoke (or are willing to stop before and after surgery), and have realistic expectations about the degree of lift and scar placement.
Skin quality, forehead height and the position of the hairline all influence the approach. The endoscopic technique is well suited to most patients; in some cases a traditional or other approach may be recommended. When the brow is low and the upper lids are also heavy, combining a brow lift with upper blepharoplasty gives the best result. During your consultation in Mumbai we will examine your brow at rest and in animation, discuss your goals and explain which technique we recommend and why. We also discuss how a brow lift fits with other procedures such as a face lift or eyelid surgery.

Recovery & results
Swelling and bruising are normal after a brow lift and peak in the first few days. Keeping the head elevated and avoiding bending and straining helps. Stitches or staples, if used, are usually removed within about a week. We will give you instructions on wound care and when you can wash your hair and resume light activities. Most patients return to normal social and work life within one to two weeks.
Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting are usually avoided for a few weeks to protect healing and minimise swelling. The brow position and line softening continue to refine over several weeks as swelling subsides; final result is typically visible by two to three months. Results last many years. You will still age and lines may gradually return, but the brow position and improvement in lines are long-lasting. Some patients use Botox later to maintain the smooth forehead; we can discuss this at follow-up.

Frequently asked questions
The endoscopic brow lift uses small incisions in the hairline and a camera for precise release and fixation, with typically less dissection and a quicker recovery. The traditional (coronal) lift uses a longer incision across the scalp. Your surgeon will recommend the best technique for your anatomy, hairline and goals.
Botox relaxes muscles to soften lines; it can lift the brow slightly in some people but cannot fully correct a low or heavy brow. A brow lift repositions the brow and smooths lines surgically for a lasting change. Both can be used together: surgery for position, Botox for maintenance of smooth forehead.
With the endoscopic approach, incisions are in the hairline and the hairline is not typically moved. With a coronal lift, the incision is behind the hairline and may slightly raise it. We will discuss your hairline and how the chosen technique may affect it at your consultation.
Light walking is encouraged early. Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting are usually avoided for three to four weeks to protect healing and reduce swelling. We will give you a clear timeline at your post-operative visits.
Yes. A brow lift is often combined with upper blepharoplasty for a harmonious rejuvenation of the upper face. Doing both in one session allows one recovery and a balanced result. We will discuss whether this is right for you during your consultation.
